Benjamin Bronfman is happy to announce the birth of his baby boy on February 11th. Of course, the mother may be the bigger deal–M.I.A.. The Fashionista gave fans all the details via a blog post on MySpace (no love for Facebook?). Congrats to mother, father, and child.

Jimmy Tamborello A.K.A. Dntel is re-releasing his first two albums as the collection Early Works For Me, If It Works For You II April 14th. The set will include the collection’s 1998 namesake, 1999’s Something Always Goes Wrong and a third disc of unreleased goodies.

Speaking of new releases, everyone’s favorite demur pysch folkies Grizzly Bear has unveiled the name and cover of their upcoming Warp Records effort. Mark May 26th on your calendars for Veckatimest.

The 90s are alive and well, as evident by the resurgence of Matt Sharp outfit The Rentals. The group is undertaking an ambitious project, releasing weekly black and white films with an original soundtrack from the group. Beginning in April, the group will release a mini-album every three months accumulating the work so far, with a box set collecting everything due at year’s end. If you need a fix of mid-90s synth-inspired pop every week, you have your internet destination.

When not busy wearing geese or helping Iceland’s environmental economy, Bjork makes music. This time her product will find its way into Voltaic, which covers the live experience of Volta shows in Paris and Reykjavik. The 4-disc box set will comes in three editions: standard (4 CDs), deluxe (2 DVDs + 2 CDs) and deluxe vinyl.

Bad luck followed Gang Gang Dance to Europe. The group’s equipment was destroyed in an Amsterdam club where Gang Gang Dance was storing their instruments after their first show. The believed electrical fire left nothing but charred guitars, melted synthesizers, and warped drum rims causing the group to cancel the rest of their European jaunt.
